Walking distance is approximately 2.5 kilometres, mostly on flat or downhill terrain

About your guide:

As a Prague native, local patriot and passionate traveler, Martin enjoys sharing his love for Prague with others.

He has been organizing classical music concerts, beer tours and historical walks around the city center for almost a decade. His tours are mix of history, culture, local food and lots of fun facts. Martin prefers hosting a small group of people, which allows him to prepare a more personalized experience.

Meeting point:

Křížovnické náměstí, Prague 1

The meeting point is by the Charles IV. statue (the statue is located in front of the St. Francis Church) close to the Charles Bridge. Your guide will be holding a blue-white umbrella.

Take a metro A (green line) to Staroměstská station or trams Nos. 2, 17, 18 to Karlovy lázně or Staroměstská stop. The tour will end by the metro/tram stop Staroměstská.

Please arrive to the meeting point at least 10 minutes before the tour departure time

Taking a walk from the Old Town to Lobkowicz Palace is an unforgettable experience, offering breathtaking views of Prague. With its marvellous atmosphere Lobkowicz Palace is a great opportunity to take a break and integrate a midday classic concert into your Prague Castle visit.

The Lobkowicz Palace (built in mid-16th century) became a property of the Lobkowicz family - one of the oldest noble families in Bohemia. In 18th century the palace was magnificently adapted in the Baroque style by architect Carlo Lurago.

Nowadays the palace holds one of the finest private art collections in Europe, including paintings by Canaletto, Breughel, original scores with notes by Mozart and Beethoven (Josef František Maxmilián, 7th Prince Lobkowicz, was a patron of Ludwig van Beethoven, who dedicated to him, as a thank you for a lifetime support, inter alia his 3rd "Eroica", 5 and 6 "Pastoral" Symphony), historical musical instruments and many other rarities!

Popular chamber classical music concerts are performed in the original musical salon of the palace. You may also visit Lobkowicz Café and Restaurant with panoramatic views of Prague on the ground floor.

We recommend to arrive 40 minutes before the concert because of the random security check at the entrance to the Prague Castle area!

Martin is a seasoned guide who is doing his best to make everyone comfortable. He is knowledgeable about Prague and open to any question. The tour was interesting and gave me a good first impression about Mala Strana and the Castle. The restaurant was fine, one could see it is a genuine place and not gentrified, which was cool although the food itself wasn't outstanding. The concert was average, which is nothing Martin is responsible of. The musicians did not execute at their best level and made mistakes, it is probably a way for them to make money but their heart wasn't fully there. The programme, mostly composed of pieces that everyone knows, was a bit bland. In conclusion, I am happy I took the tour thanks to Martin's relationship skills and the fact it was a very small group of interesting people.
