Petřín Lookout Tower located in the tranquil surroundings of Petřín Park offers great views of Prague

Petřín Lookout Tower, one of the most prominent landmarks of Prague, was built as part of the Jubilee Exhibition in 1891 as a loose copy inspired by the Eiffel Tower (at a ratio of 1:5). The view from its top overlooks not only the whole city, but on a clear day you can see the highest mountain in the Czech Republic (Sněžka) 150 km away.

Nearby:

In the walking distance from the Petřín Lookout Tower are extensive landscaped gardens, including a sizeable rose garden, and other attractions: an observatory (with a telescope and museum open to the public), a mirror maze, a church, and several lovely cafés.

Interesting facts:

  • It is 58.70 metres high, and 299 steps lead to its peak, which is at the same altitude as the real Eiffel Tower.

Important:

  • Last entrance 30 minutes before closing time
